HOW GOOD MEMORIES INSPIRED GREAT PRETZELS.

our story

At The Pretzel Bakery, happy food memories fuel everything we do. They’re actually what inspired us to open the shop in the first place. We grew up on pretzels and sought to share that special piece of our childhood with the neighborhood. After countless recipe iterations, we finally had what we needed—an airier, lighter take on a delicious Philly pretzel. By 2012, we opened The Pretzel Bakery in a tiny walk-up on Capitol Hill, where pretzels were served through a dutch door. Although we were new to the community, they embraced us as if we’d always been there. Thanks to their support, we outgrew our small walls within just a few years and moved into a larger space down the block. Today, we’re proud to be a go-to snack spot on Capitol Hill and are excited to open a new space in Cabin John Village.

Pretzels have a special way of bringing joy to people’s lives. And that’s what The Pretzel Bakery is all about. A chance to piece together a new favorite moment.

“I opened The Pretzel Bakery based on my memories as a kid and now I get to create the same kind of memories for the next generation of kids. How lucky am I!?”
